This Privacy Policy explains how RunTick ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the RunTick mobile application and website (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information: when you sign up with Google Sign-In or email, we store your name, email address, and a unique account identifier. If you use Google Sign-In, we do not receive your Google password.
- Profile information you add: e.g., display name and optional fitness profile details.
2.2 Health and activity data
- Location / GPS data: precise location is collected while you record a run so we can map your route, distance, pace, and speed. Depending on your settings, location may be collected in the foreground and, if you enable it, in the background while a run is active.
- Heart rate and fitness metrics: heart rate data from your device or a connected sensor, recorded during activity.
Location combined with heart rate is treated as sensitive personal information. We collect it only to provide core run-tracking features and only with your permission.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data: device model, operating system, app version, language, and similar diagnostic information.
- Crash and error logs: stability and error data collected through Sentry to help us diagnose problems.
3. How we use your information
- Provide the Service's core features (recording, mapping, and storing your runs and fitness metrics);
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- Store your activity history so it is available across sessions;
- Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Service;
- Communicate with you about service-related matters;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with other users. We do not use your GPS or heart rate data for advertising.
4. How information is shared
We disclose information only in these limited situations:
- Service providers acting on our behalf, contractually limited to providing services to us:
- Google — when you choose Google Sign-In, to verify your identity.
- Sentry — for crash and error monitoring.
- Legal and safety: if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RunTick, our users, or others.
5. Where your data is stored and security
Your account and activity data are stored on our own VPS infrastructure, with encrypted backups. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data retention and deletion
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
Account and data deletion: you can delete your account and associated data at any time:
- Visit https://runtick-app.com/account and scroll to the "Delete account" section, or
- Email [email protected].
Upon a verified deletion request, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.
7. Permissions used by the app
- Location (precise / background): to record routes, distance, and pace during runs.
- Body sensors / heart rate: to record heart rate during activity.
- Internet / network: to sync data with our servers and authenticate your account.
You can change or revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking permissions may disable core features.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
